Make a round profile picture
A circular PNG of your face or logo, with clear corners, at the size the site wants.

Most sites crop your profile picture into a circle when they show it, whatever shape you upload. Doing the circle yourself means you choose what is inside it, instead of finding the top of your head cut off.
A round picture needs transparent corners, which JPG cannot hold — so the result is a PNG. For a logo on a colored background, remove the background first and the circle will sit cleanly on light and dark themes alike.

Crop to a circle
Add the photo, choose Circle, and drag the frame so your face sits in the middle with a little space above the head. Pull a corner to make the circle bigger or smaller.

Set the size
Profile pictures are shown small, so 400 px is plenty for WhatsApp, LinkedIn or Discord and keeps the file light. Choose it under Size of the result.

Clear the background of a logo
For a logo on a white or plain box, make the box transparent first, then crop to a circle. The logo then works on any background.

Worth knowing
- If a site asks for a square and crops it itself, upload the square version instead: choose Square rather than Circle and it will look the same once the site rounds it.

How do I crop a picture into a circle?

What size should a profile picture be?
Sites display them small, so 400×400 px covers WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Discord and most others. Uploading a much bigger picture only adds weight; the site shrinks it anyway.
