How to use it

  1. Add your files

    Add a picture — or several that should be cropped the same way.

  2. Check the settings

    Choose a shape, then drag the frame over the part you want and pull a corner to size it.

  3. Save the result

    Press Crop and save. A circle comes back as a PNG with clear corners, ready to upload as a profile picture.

Why it doesn’t upload

The pictures people crop are usually of people: profile photos, passport photos, screenshots of chats. Cropping is a few lines of drawing in the browser, so here the image is cut in this tab and never sent anywhere.

How to check for yourself

Worth knowing

  • A JPG is saved again after cropping, at 92% quality by default — visually the same. Save as PNG if every pixel must stay exactly as it was.
  • A circle needs transparent corners, so it is saved as PNG or WebP. Choosing JPG fills the corners with white.
  • Only the first frame of an animated GIF is kept.
  • The passport shape is the 35×45 mm ratio used across Europe, India and elsewhere. For a portal that also fixes the pixels and file size, finish with Resize Image, which has those rules built in.

Questions

How do I crop an image into a circle?

Add the picture, choose Circle, drag the frame over the face or logo and press Crop. You get a round PNG with transparent corners, which is what WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Discord and most other sites show as a profile picture.

How do I crop a photo to passport size?

Choose Passport 35×45 and fit the frame from the top of the head to just below the chin, with a little space above. That gives the right shape. Many online forms also want exact pixels and a file size — India’s Passport Seva asks for 630×810 px and 10–250 KB — so run the result through Resize Image, which has those rules as presets.

How do I crop a picture to a square?

Choose Square and drag the frame to the part you want. Pull a corner to make the square bigger or smaller; it stays square. Set Size of the result to 1080 px for Instagram or 400 px for a profile picture.

Does cropping reduce image quality?

Cropping only removes what is outside the frame. What changes quality is saving again: a JPG is re-saved at 92% quality, which looks the same on screen. PNG keeps every pixel exactly.

Can I crop several images at once?

Yes. Add them all and set the frame on the first. Each of the others is cropped to the same part of the picture, scaled to its own size — ideal for photos taken from the same spot.

What is the difference between cropping and resizing?

Cropping cuts away the edges and keeps the rest at full detail. Resizing keeps the whole picture and changes how many pixels it has. To get a picture to an exact size like 600×600, crop to the shape first, then set the pixels — Resize Image does both in one go.
