How to use it

  1. Add your files

    Drop in the photos. A whole camera roll at once is fine — they all get the same turn.

  2. Check the settings

    Pick a quarter turn, a half turn, or a mirror. The preview of each file shows what you will get.

  3. Save the result

    Press rotate and save. Several images come back together as a ZIP.

Why it doesn’t upload

Turning a picture is one of the cheapest things a computer can do: the pixels are the same, read in a different order. Sending a folder of photos to a server for that is all cost and no benefit, so this does it on your device.

How to check for yourself

Worth knowing

  • JPGs are saved again, because the picture has to be decoded to turn it. At quality 95 the difference is invisible, but it is not the bit-for-bit rotation a desktop editor can do. PNG and WebP lose nothing.
  • HEIC photos are saved as JPG, because browsers can read HEIC but not write it.
  • Animated GIFs come out as a single frame. To keep the animation, convert it to a video first.
  • The turn is baked into the picture rather than written as an orientation tag, so it looks the same everywhere, including in apps that ignore the tag.

Questions

Why do my photos upload sideways?

Phones record the picture the way the sensor saw it and add an orientation tag saying which way up it should be. Apps that read the tag show it correctly; apps that ignore it show it on its side. Turning it here rewrites the pixels themselves, so every app agrees.

Does rotating an image lose quality?

With PNG or WebP, no: every pixel survives. With JPG the picture is compressed again, which at quality 95 is not something you can see, but repeating it dozens of times on the same file would eventually show.

How do I mirror a photo?

Turn on Mirror left to right. That is the flip people want for selfies, where the front camera records what you saw in the screen and writing comes out backwards.

Can I rotate a batch of photos at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like; they are all turned the same way and come back as a ZIP. Photos that need different turns are two runs.

Can I rotate by an angle like 7°?

Not here — only quarter turns and mirrors, which need no interpolation and lose nothing. Straightening a crooked horizon means resampling every pixel and cropping the corners, which is an editor’s job.
